 Notice of Meeting Cancellation and Rescheduling of Public Hearings

The Monday, May 13, 2024, meeting of the Board of Supervisors has been cancelled. The public hearings related to the Blackwater Solar, LLC project will be rescheduled for a joint Planning Commission-Board of Supervisors meeting (tentatively scheduled to be held) on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.

Public notices for the Blackwater Solar project public hearings were published in the print and online editions of the Petersburg Progress-Index in accordance with the time periods required by state law. However, County staff recently confirmed with the newspaper that it is no longer distributed or generally circulated in Sussex County.  For this reason, the Board of Supervisors at the Chairman’s direction and with the recommendation of County Administration, has decided to cancel the May 13 meeting and to advertise the rescheduled meeting and public hearings in the remaining newspaper that is still in general circulation in the County, the Sussex-Surry Dispatch.

 An official notice for the rescheduled meeting, including the exact date, time and location is forthcoming.
