May Is Foster Care Awareness Month
In recognition of Foster Care Awareness month, the Department of Family Services and Public Affairs Department will be implementing a campaign to create awareness and advance recruitment efforts of foster and adoptive families who can/will ultimately provide safe homes for youth in the custody of local departments of social services.
The campaign's "Foster the Odds" concept focuses on the perspective of the Commonwealth using national and Virginia-specific statistics that demonstrate the need for additional foster families to help improve (or foster) the odds.
