Pursuant to Section 34-217, Subsection 18.b, of the Zoning Ordinance, the applicant, Shands Energy Center, LLC (wholly owned by East Point Energy, LLC), seeks a conditional permit to construct and operate a battery energy storage facility on tax map numbers 64-(A)-21 (11.48 acres) and 64-(A)-23 (20.8 acres). The site in question (totaling approximately 32.28 acres), is located on the north side of Route 40 (Sussex Drive adjacent to an existing Dominion Energy Substation.)
All persons desiring to comment on the proposed rezoning and amendment to the Conditional Use Permit Applications should be present at the above stated time and place. Anyone needing assistance or accommodation under the provisions of the American Disabilities Act should contact the County Administrator’s Office at 434-246-1000.
A copy of the Conditional Use Permit Applications along with supporting documentation are available for review in the Community Development Office during regular business hours Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
