In accordance with Continuity of Government Ordinance passed by the Sussex County Board of Supervisors on March 27, 2020. to modify public meeting and public hearing practices and procedures to address continuity of operations associated with pandemic disaster, and in accordance with Virginia Code § 15.2-1413, notice is hereby given that the following meeting of the Sussex County Board of Supervisors will take place (including the below public hearings) on June 18, 2020 at 6:00 pm via Conference Call or Video conference, where the Board of Supervisors may or may not take action on the following:

Budget Work Session

Pursuant to Virginia Code § 2.2-3707(D), to address matters related to the COVID-19 State of Emergency. The time and place of this Emergency (Special) Meeting is hereinafter stated, to-wit:

The FY21 proposed budget is based on a real property tax rate of $.58 per $100 of assessed value. This represents no change in the adopted real estate tax rate. The FY21 General Property Tax revenue estimate is $10,031,910, an increase of $349,456 (or 1.04%) more than the current year’s estimate.

In consideration of the COVID-19 outbreak, for the next twenty-one days, through April 6th, 2020, all civil, traffic and criminal matters in the Court, except for emergency matters are cancelled.
