The Sussex County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are proud to serve our members and work continuously to provide opportunities to showcase our members within the community.
On Friday, May 5, along with the Town of Waverly, we will be hosting a "Cinco de Mayo" celebration from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm in downtown Waverly.
This event will be open to the public at no charge! We are encouraging businesses to participate by setting up a booth to showcase their business or organization. This is open to any Chamber member at no cost! We ask that you provide your own tent, table, chairs, etc. We will need to know your interest no later than Wednesday, May 3. NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES are allowed to be given away (with the exception of candy) as we will have food vendors and a beer tent.
If you would like to be a food vendor, you must get certified by the Department of Health prior to attending. Please let us know NO LATER THAN April 24 if you plan on participating in the event. (As a food vendor, we are asking that once again you honor the free meal ticket for town workers and security provided by Sussex Sheriff Department.)
We ask all vendors to arrive no earlier than 3:30 pm and no later than 4:15 pm so you can be ready to go at 5:00 pm. Someone will be directing you to your set-up spot when you arrive. (Still working on those details).
Back by popular demand, we have the "Feature Attraction Band" performing once again. We are asking for sponsors to cover the cost of the band. If you are willing to be a sponsor, ($250 minimum), we will recognize you throughout the night and in any other way available. Please let us know if you are willing to be a sponsor no later than APRIL 21 so we have time to make the sponsor banner.
We are asking for volunteers to help with set-up, at the registration table, 50/50 raffle, beer ticket sales, and the beer tent. If you cannot personally attend, please have someone from your business or organization help. If anyone can work at least a 45-minute shift, that would be most helpful. Please let us know if you are willing to help no later than APRIL 28.
In closing, our organization is growing and the more events we can sponsor, the more attention will be brought to our local businesses.
Please be sure to support the Town of Waverly 5K scheduled for Saturday, April 29. The Town has been very supportive of the Chamber, please support this event. A portion of the proceeds will support the James House, which is also a Chamber member. If you don't want to run, then walk. If you don't want to walk, then support those that do. And plan to stay afterward to play pickleball. If you haven't played yet, it would be a great time to learn!
