Richmond-Crater Hazard Mitigation Plan Update
The Sussex County Board of Supervisors will consider adoption of the updated 2022 Richmond-Crater Hazard Mitigation Plan on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 6:00 P. M. in the General District Courtroom – Sussex Judicial Center, 15098 Courthouse Road, Sussex, Virginia 23884.

The Sussex County Board of Supervisors will consider adoption of the updated 2022 Richmond-Crater Hazard Mitigation Plan on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 6:00 P. M. in the General District Courtroom – Sussex Judicial Center, 15098 Courthouse Road, Sussex, Virginia 23884. 

Preparation of the plan included a FEMA-prescribed mitigation planning process that included two (2) public hearings involving all participating localities, including Sussex County. The plan consists of hazard mitigation actions to reduce the potential for harm to people and property from future hazard occurrences and satisfies a condition to receive future funding for mitigation projects under multiple FEMA pre- and post-disaster mitigation grant programs.

A copy of the Richmond-Crater Hazard Mitigation Plan and other supporting documentation are available for review on the County’s website @ www.sussexcountyva.gov.  A copy is also available for view in the Planning Department located at 20135 Princeton Road, Sussex, Virginia, during regular business hours Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Phone number (434) 246-1043.
