The Pocahontas Community Grant is a Multi-year grant to assist residents in the Town of Wakefield. The project consists of Knight Street, King Street, Twilight Street and portions of Higgins Street and Railroad Avenue. The Urgent Needs Grant will assist those residents and business owners whose homes and/or commercial establishments were tornado damaged in the swath of wind extending from the Waverly area to the Wakefield area. Houses will either be rehabilitated or re-built (new construction) under VDHCD regulations. Businesses will receive façade improvements.
The County is seeking qualified licensed and insured general contractors to oversee and perform needed repairs, such as roofing, siding, flooring, insulation, decks, drywall, flooring, painting, HVAC, electrical and plumbing etc. Please contact Shaun Smith at 434-623-8108 for additional information.
