Public Notice: Continuity of Operations Associated with Pandemic Disaster
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Va. Code § 15.2-1427, that at its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sussex County Department of Social Services Conference Room, 20103 Princeton Road, Sussex, Virginia 23884, the Board will consider the adoption of an Ordinance to Effectuate Temporary Changes in Certain Deadlines and to Modify Public Meeting and Public Hearing Practices and Procedures to Address Continuity of Operations Associated With Pandemic Disaster.

Among other things, the proposed ordinance, as authorized by Va. Code §15.2-1413, provides for electronic meetings and public hearings of the Board of Supervisors and other County public entities. The Board previously adopted this Ordinance on a 60-day emergency basis on March 27, 2020 and re-adoption of the ordinance is required in order to continue to have the authority to conduct public business through all electronic means during the COVID-19 state of emergency declared by the Governor. The proposed ordinance requires that public notice and access be provided to all public meetings
conducted by electronic means.

A copy of the ordinance will be available at the County Administration office located 20135 Princeton Road, Sussex, Virginia 23884. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
